1. Multnomah Falls
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! It's free, a great place to take some pictures, and if you hike up to the top it's a good workout too! :)
This donut shop is so fun, especially if you have kids, but even if you don't! They have all kinds of delicious donuts, and just a cool little atmosphere. (Don't turn your back on your donuts, though! They have picnic tables outside, and a little coffee shop next door. We saw a family 5 feet away from their donuts with their backs turned, and some (either drugged out or homeless or both) girls just came up and demolished them. We didn't notice while it was happening, or we definitely would have said something. :( The family got free replacements, so we were glad for that. But, lesson learned: keep those tasty treats firmly in your grasp!) The boys both had M&M donuts, and I had an Oreo one. I think Chris got a plain 'ol boring one. ;)
There are food carts all over downtown, but a pretty big group of them at 10th and Alder St. They take up a whole block and have so many options! It was really tough to choose what we wanted. We didn't see any tables, so we sat on the sidewalk for lunch. But, hey, if you can be adventurous, this was fun and delicious! :) (I had Thai, Chris had Mexican, and the boys shared with us both.) It is really fun just to walk around downtown and look at the buildings too! There is a lot of really pretty architecture down there!
This is actually a couple of hours away from Portland, but we have gone there almost every time we visit since it is only about an hour away from Chris's hometown. There may be something closer to Portland, but I couldn't tell you about it. I can tell you, though, what I love about Newport!
I didn't take any great pictures this time... So this is from the very first time Chris took me to Oregon! :) The bayfront has a really pretty view, great places to eat, and....
I'm not gonna lie, there's always a small part of me with this crazy fear that our kids are going to fall and get eaten by a sea lion. But, they are fun to go see, and Colton loved imitating them! (I was feeding Elijah, so I didn't get any pictures this time. But, here's one from our "wedding pictures" so you can see too! :)
While it's always freezing cold and not exactly my idea of an awesome beach, it is still beautiful and worth seeing! (And the kids still love to play in the sand and water...)
Here's us hanging out at Papa's house...
We were the very last ones to board the plane, and it was loud! (Love those faces!)
What do y'all like to do in Portland? Or, where do you visit family? Leave some comments, I love to hear from y'all!!
