Yesterday was a win! :)
I finally broke down and decided to cut the boys' hair... Out of all of the things I do as a mom, this is my absolute LEAST favorite task. Seriously, you can ask our neighbors. In the past, every time we cut the boys' hair, you would think we were murdering them. (Not. joking.) :/ Needless to say, this is something I put off to the point that our children look like mini-hobos.
Why do it myself, you ask? Well, the last time we actually took Micaiah somewhere (we went to one of those places with airplane seats and a movie... I was hoping to show Chris that the money was worth it for him to have a fun time and get a haircut!) he did not have a fun time. He screamed. He tried to climb out of the chair. He pushed the girl's hands away. It. was. miserable. And really embarrassing. And, in the end, his hair looked awful. She didn't do any better of a job than I could at home. So, I did not prove anything, and after that experience I preferred to just torture our kids at home and save the $15! And, when Colton came along he followed suit. So, every 8-10 weeks or so, we have this horrible, torturous haircutting to do. Sigh.
Yesterday, though, was my beacon of hope!!! No one screamed. Not once! There were some small whimpers, and of course, a little bit of whining, but no screaming! (I guess they are just getting bigger and finally realizing that haircuts don't hurt!!!) It made my day! And, my children no longer look like hobos. :) So, we're celebrating a win!
