I bet there are some of you out there who have seen the extreme couponing shows or even have some friends who post stuff on Facebook like, "Look at all this great stuff I scored for $5!" and your thought is, "I've used coupons before and I don't save like that. :/ So, what's the big deal?!"
Well, I'll let you in...
Big Deal #1: Stacking creates great opportunity!
The BIG DEAL is when you are able to take a coupon, stack it with a sale, a store coupon, and/or a "store cash" back offer... You can get some UH-MAZING deals! That's how you see people getting stuff for pennies on the dollar! It does take a little bit of effort, but it's worth it every time!
Big Deal #2: A stockpile keeps you from being forced to buy stuff at full price
...and you're totally ready for the Zombie apocalypse. ;)
You know how expensive the grocery bill gets when all of a sudden you realize that you have run out of toilet paper, shampoo, AND dish soap at the same time?! Well, the BIG IDEA behind couponing is that you do #1: Stack, stack, stack... and STOCK UP when you get those amazing deals! You don't buy stuff when you need it right away... you buy things that you will use and keep a stockpile so that you never run out! Because running out means spending more money. :/
Big Deal #3: You are always prepared!
Couponing has really helped put me in a future-thinking state of mind. When you are filling up your stockpile and checking out your favorite couponing sites, you'll also find great deals on toys or gifts and have the chance to stock up before birthdays and holidays come up! Just like with your stockpile, when you are thinking ahead and watching for a great deal, you can usually find one much easier than when you are shopping the day before the party!
Big Deal #4: You get to try new stuff for free!
There have been several times that I have scored snack foods, room scents, or any number of things that I never would have spent the money to buy full price, but I got them for free or really, really cheap! It's pretty fun to try out new stuff without the frustration of wasting money if you don't like it!
Big Deal #5: You save a LOT of money!
Y'all, this is the biggest reason for couponing... Sure, it's really fun (To me, it's like a game and it's always exciting when I "win" and score great deals!) But, it's also a way to save money! When it seems like prices are rising everywhere, couponing can really help keep your budget intact.
What do y'all think? Any fellow couponers out there with more ideas on why it's such a BIG
